Mc Donald’s everywhere.
Cholesterol too high,
Value meals, what a value!--
Big coke, large fry.
But wait, am I hungry
Or is it just the lights?
It calls to me as I pass.
Mmm, I never put up a fight.
Aaahh, there’s a new girl at the window;
She’s giving me the eye.
I smile and give her my money.
All I want is a hot apple pie.
But still she’s engaging, though simple,
Who isn’t who works at this place? (Fate?)
So I order a burger without cheese
And eagerly pull up to wait.
It’s been two, three minutes;
Her face, don’t know, I forgot.
Now I have to get through it;
Put myself in a tricky spot,
She comes to the window, I asked her name,
I give her mine, our numbers exchange.
She gives me my burger--two actually.
I say, “Thanks,” dispense pleasantries.
She walks off, I start my car.
Next week this time I’m back for more.
For now, at least, my food is hot.
Why not?
