Greetings!

It's amazing how God works! A couple of months ago I would never had thought I'd be director of the Young Adult Ministry at Colton First Baptist. But now that I am, I'm getting more excited about it every day. There certainly is a need for a young adult ministry at CFB.

I remember my first years out of high school. It was as if my church had forgotten all about me. There was nothing for me there, no place where I could fit in. I was too old for youth group, too young for the men's group, and half of the singles crowd were in their thirties or divorced. The only place I found at church was in ministry. But one can only serve so long before getting burned out from not also being on the receiving end of ministry. Eventually I became a wanderer, trying to find a church where I could serve and grow and be a part of a local body of believers. I know from experience that it is not an easy thing to do.

I also know that God is faithful. He led me here to CFB and He's called me to a new season of ministry. And I want to be faithful to Him, to seek His direction and His vision for our group. I don't know what He has in store for us but I want to get on board with the work He's doing.

What I do know is that I want the young adult group to be a place where we can be ourselves, have a sense of belonging in the church, and have the freedom and encouragement to become all God wants us to be. I would love for you to join us on Sunday mornings as we start just doing life together.
