It's Over Between Us

It’s been so long that we’ve been together, in fact, as long as I can remember. Sure there had been others before her, but she was special. It must have been around 1998 when we first met. She was beautiful with nice curves, not too hard to handle, and very responsive. We went everywhere together! We even went to Seattle and back.

Sadly, as time went on, it became harder for me to trust her. I’m a guy who likes to go places. And sometimes she just wouldn’t want to go anywhere or do anything. She’d just sit there and act as if nothing were wrong. She would even make random annoying sounds just to test my patience.

And I was patient. Even when she started to lose her looks I still managed to see the beauty in her. But still, it was plain for everyone to see that she could use more than just a little touch up. She was not aging gracefully, and I was starting to get embarrassed for her.

But I could handle all that. After all, every relationship has its ups and downs and needs a little maintenance from time to time. But it got to the point where, for all my effort, she was just completely unresponsive. Not only did she refuse to do anything together, but she even stopped making those unsettling sounds. (I would have settled for the sounds!) She just ended up making a spectacle of herself. And that’s uncomfortable for everyone.

It finally became clear that this was not going to work out. I had to let her go. Don’t get me wrong. We had some good times together. I’ll cherish all the memories. It’s just that I wasn’t getting anywhere with her and it’s time to move on. “Green-T” (short for “Green Thunder”) and I have parted ways. Though she really was a mess, it was sad to watch the tow truck take her away. We said good-bye at 9:14 this morning. Happy trails!

Oh, so sad. did you get a newer, younger one to replace her? It's been almost two years since my bucket kicked the bucket, and it was emotional for me. She was a part of my concert days with stickers all over her and such. Now bucket Jr. is about too. But this time I'm not holding on as tightly. I want a stable yet impressive steed for the next one.
